PDBC Senior A

PDBC Senior A competitive athletes currently train and compete with our Premier crews and will follow the same program and pricing. 

The Senior A program is designed for competitive athletes between the ages of 40-49 years old. 

In 2025, the SR A mixed small crew placed 3rd overall at Canadian Nationals held in Montreal. In 2024, we competed in the Club Crew World Championships held in Ravenna, Italy, where we earned 2 silver and a bronze in the small boat mixed division, and at the inaugural CanAmerican championships we proudly earned gold in the Senior A small boat division. Our goal continues to be the fastest Senior A Small Boat Mixed Crew in the world.

*Please note that this is a competitive program so athletes must be selected to compete with us.



Winter:

Pool Paddling @ Afterburn Fitness Centre

November 2nd, 2025 - March 29th, 2026

  • Bi-Weekly, Sundays, 9:00am - 11:00am 

Please note the following: November 16th, January 18th, February 15th and March 15th will include an 8:00am start for most athletes

 

PERG Training @ Paddle Zone

November 9th, 2025 - April 12th, 2026

  • Bi-Weekly Sundays, 9:00am - 11:30am

 

No sessions on the following dates: Dec 22nd - Jan 2nd inclusive


PERG Testing @ Paddle Zone

  • Saturday, January 24th, 2026

  • Saturday, April 11th, 2026


Summer:

Dragon Boat Practices @ Frenchman’s Bay Marina

May 7th - August 25th, 2026

  • Sundays, 9:00am - 10:30am (gender crews), 10:30am - 12:00pm (premier mixed crew), 12:00pm - 1:30pm (senior A mixed)

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30pm - 8:30 pm

No practices May 17th or August 2nd, 2026

 

Outrigger Coached Sessions @ Frenchman’s Bay Marina

May 25th - August 4th, 2026

  • Mondays, 4:30pm - 6:00pm OR Tuesdays, 4:30pm - 6:00pm

No OC practices June 29th and 30th, 2026

 

 

Regattas

  • Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival - June 19th/20th

  • Hamilton Dragon Boat Festival - July 4th

Fees:

Annual Membership: $2,500.00 (HST included) 

Distance Annual Membership: $1,000.00 (HST included)

* A distance membership is only available to paddlers who live more then 100kms from Pickering and who are only able to attend 60% or less of practices.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque, email money transfer or by credit card via PayPal. Please note that all PayPal payments incur an additional 2.9% convenience fee.
